1922: A Netflix movie (Review)

  • 1922 is a movie based on a Stephen King Novella about a family that lives on a farm. The wife wants to move to the city and sell the farm but her husband wants to stay on the land instead. His wife threatens to leave and take their son with her. The husband doesn't care for this plan and thus plots his wife's demise while getting his son involved as well. After his wife's' untimely death, the father and son continue on the farm but their lives are changed forever.

This movie is very slow paced but it is very good if you can last throughout the whole thing. The family is very simple and the story is easy to follow but it is very very slow. As with most Stephen King novel/movies, there are psychological elements to them and it is well thought out as far as the events that the father and son face after the passing of Mom. It is a very somber movie as well. Not too much in the way of jokes, pretty serious throughout the whole movie but in my opinion it is good.

My only warning is that it is very slow but I enjoyed the movie. There are some really tense moments as well as the story unfolds. It is on Netflix, so feel free to give it a chance, but this movie is not for everyone. Until next time, Ugeek On!
