Suicide Squad (Review)

  •

So I know there is a lot of hate for this movie. And I truly don't understand it but here we go. Suicide Squad is a movie that brings a lot of villains together for the sake of a government that wants to use them to do their dirty work. The implant a small explosive in their neck to keep them in line. And if anything goes wrong the government can just blame them and wipe their hands clean. So that is the premise of the movie.

You get a little back story on how they were captured and by who. And you get to learn a little about their back story. Not too much but just enough to leave you wondering. I really enjoyed how they gave you just enough. Not telling you too much but giving the viewer a time to think before they realize something different. You find out how Harley Quinn came to be and how her relationship with the Joker is toxic but exhilarating. It's a fine blend of the movie telling you just enough for you to form your own conclusion. I loved the pacing in this movie. You feel emotion at the right time. You laugh at the right times. And the action is beautifully done. I actually enjoyed this movie better than I enjoyed Batman v Superman. Will Smith really brought Deadshot alive and likable. Margot Robbie brought that insane but yet smart and clever Harley Quinn. She was able to switch personalty's on a fly and you could see it on her face.

I really liked how they did the characters and how they weren't perfect. They seemed real and believable. That is one thing I am liking from the last two DC films is how unperfect it is. I really don't enjoy the theme park movies being made now a day. I guess I come from a time where movies had you in so many different emotions. Movies made you think and try to figure out what was it all about. You had to ponder and hypothesize the motives of the characters. Basically what I'm trying to say is movies use to allow you to think.

    Rated 7 - 10

And now we get told everything right up front and to me, I don't understand the fun in that. Was Suicide Squad perfect? No, it wasn't but it wasn't meant to be. My daughters and I enjoyed every minute of it and DC has some new girl fans with my daughters loving some of the strong woman characters that graced the movie screen. So without rambling so much, I leave you with this. If you wanna see a villain comic book movie come to life. Then go watch Suicide Squad and enjoy the unpredictable characters and fun emotional movie that it is. Coming from this UGeek this is a must see. Rock on UGeeks. And keep on geeking on.
