Why VR Technology will help us learn to be social again.

  • The advantages of virtual reality are endless. From the healthcare system to the school system. In the world that we live in today, virtual reality will be our next best reality. On just a social aspect, virtual reality will enable us to learn to be social again. I know that might sound funny but I will explain. At the moment we use a 2D platform to socialize. Whether it's our mobile device or computer/tablet. The spectrum of socializing has gone from a physical format of learning to say hello or goodbye. To messages on any social platform. The art of conversation has been lost because we can come up with the best response when we like. When we message on Facebook or when we text each other. The translation of human interaction is gone. One out of ten kids lack the fundamental skills to socialize, quoted by the Daily Mail. And this will grow with every year that we keep using a 2D platforms to communicate.

With the world moving forward and socializing not changing we need to do something. And this is why VR will help us become more social. Dr. Yang with Autism Speaks has already concluded that “Virtual reality training improves social skills and brain activity.” Dr. Yang and his team have already seen huge improvements. Dr. Yang says “Our early results are beginning to reveal a remarkable degree of malleability in the neural systems involved in social cognition in adults with ASD,” he says. Lay translation: On brain scans performed after the training, the researchers are seeing brain regions associated with social understanding literally light up in ways they hadn’t before. If people with Autism can see huge improvements. Imagine what a normal brain can achieve. This is why VR is a prime solution to our socializing and skills thereof.

When most people think VR they think gaming. And this is far from the truth. The VR world brings a whole new element to the social world that we don't experience unless we go out in the world. And this is the VR physical presence. In meaning body language and responding back to some when they say something at that second. In the VR world, you will be connected virtually in a world that you can experience the human interaction of sight and hearing. Going from a 2D platform will make you experience what a real conversation is with another human being. Being able to have an almost so real experience helps us understand how to be social again. Bringing back the personal interactions when you say something and get a response back at the same time. This is why Vtime is the first virtual reality social network of its time. With a virtual avatar that mimics facial expressions and even mouth movement. Vtime is bringing virtual body language. And by seeing who we're talking too. It's at this moment we start to become more comfortable with being around people. By training our brains on how to react to the physical sound of someone's voice. And seeing how a there body reacts to questions or even concerns. Vtime will bridge that gap of the 2D social network and bring us together with a form of physical interaction like no other.

Vtime is looking to revolutionize social networking. Gone will be the days where human interaction with friends and family is too far and in between. Being able to see your friend's avatar and respond to them as if they were right next to you, will start to train your brain on how to socialize again. It has been reported by social media today that teens spend 9 hours a day on social networks. With about 30 percent of that time is spent interacting with each other. Social media has become a spectator sport. Without the interaction, we're losing the ability to socialize and grow as individuals. And a viable solution to this is socializing in VR. Online socializing isn't gonna go away. And with socializing through VR we can start the ability to learn how to be social again.
